9 Sites to help learn how to be a great #indieauthor

February 3, 2016 By K. D. McAdams

Now that I’ve been at this Indie Author thing for a few years I thought it was time to share some of what I’ve learned along the way. Two of the biggest lessons are 1. You don’t know everything and 2. Don’t try to do it all your self.

The indie author community is incredibly supportive and helpful and there is a wealth of information from people who have been there and done that. These are some of the sites I visit all the time and their authors are people who have shaped a great deal of my thinking around what it takes to be successful in this business.

  • A Newbies Guide to Publishing – Joe Konrath
  • The Creative Penn – Joanna Penn
  • Wayfinder – Hugh Howey
  • Alliance of Independent Authors – ALLi
  • Writers Cafe on KBoards
  • The Passive Voice
  • The Book Designer
  • Kris Writes
  • Live, Write, Thrive

There is years of reading that could be done on these sights. Chances are if you have a question about self-publishing or becoming and indie author there are answers or a great conversation to be had on any of them.
